The staff who work in the Health Centre are trained to a very high level and all staff are encouraged to participate in Continuous Professional Development programmes in line with the development of the Practice and the service that we provide.
When you contact the Health Centre they will take essential details sympathetically and in complete confidence. They will try to provide you with an appointment as soon as possible and they will try to answer any other enquiries that you may have. The staff member dealing with your enquiry will always give you their name.

Health Practitioners
Mr Andy Myles (M) – Advanced Physio Practitioner
The Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) provides a first contact service for patients with any musculoskeletal (MSK) problem. This means patients do not need to be seen by a doctor first and can make an appointment directly with the APP via reception at the surgery.
The APP works independently to assess, diagnose and form a management plan for the patient, but liaises with GP and other colleagues within the practice where necessary.
The APP may also deliver initial evidence-based interventions and can refer on for imaging and to secondary care services (e.g. Orthopaedics, Neurology, Rheumatology, Pain service) if necessary, but patients who require ongoing physiotherapy will be referred on to the core MSK physiotherapy service.
Our practice APP Elaine is skilled and experienced in the delivery of joint/soft tissue injections where these are clinically appropriate. She is not able to prescribe medications but can arrange for pain medication via GP or Pharmacy colleagues. Elaine is also able to issue fit notes, but for MSK conditions only.’
